With Analysis Studio, you can get information from many different parts of our business in one report. This information is stored in a multi-dimensional data cube, called a PowerCube. A user can explore and analyze the content of the PowerCube by using Analysis Studio to create reports.
Each cube addresses an area of analysis. The information in the cube is a summary of highly compressed, more detailed information extracted from a data warehouse. The cubes are updated on a monthly basis.
A cube contains specific business perspectives, or "dimensions". A "dimension" is a broad grouping of descriptive data, such as bar groups, divisions, and providers. In general, dimensions answer the questions of "who," "what," "when," and "where." Each dimension is made up of different data levels. Each level offers progressively greater detail as you drill deeper into a cube.
