What is the Faculty Practice Solutions Center?

The Faculty Practice Solutions Center (FPSC) is a portfolio of web-based management and benchmarking tools, data, and knowledge resources that enable practice plans and clinical departments to analyze, trend, and benchmark their clinical, operational, and financial performance.

Hallmark features of the FPSC include automated electronic transmission of the line-item, physician level data on a monthly, quarterly, or semi-annual basis, as well as robust web-based reporting.

How does our participation benefit UCSF, in general, and the Medical Group in particular?

Participation in the FPSC Consortium will enable the Medical Group, our faculty physcians, and the clinical departments to analyze, trend, and benchmark their clinical, operational, and financial performance against other universities participating in this consortium.

The FPSC enables precise performance management, budgeting, and strategic planning by providing comparative data that drive to the subspecialty level.

The first is a Quick Training Guide. This guide reflects the use of Cognos as the new reporting tool.

The second guide, FPSC Quick User Guide, gives a more detailed explanation of the workings of the FPSC. This guide includes the FPSC process and methodologies, getting around the FPSC web-site, navigating around the reporting tool, as well as information on various reports.

This guide is also available on the FPSC's website.
